Once you're done at the resort, take some time to explore the greater Los Angeles area. Anaheim is a great city to walk around. With an average temperature of 67 degrees Fahrenheit and just 14 inches of rain per year, there's not much risk of getting rained out or driven home due to the cold. It's no wonder the city receives about 25 million visitors every year.
Guests can enjoy some of the city's most famous draws including Disney California Adventure Park, the Honda Center, Yorba Regional Park, and the infamous House of Blues. There are also tons of famous restaurants sprinkled throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and the surrounding neighborhoods.
You can even schedule a little something special to incorporate into your trip. The Anaheim Convention Center has tons of events taking place throughout the year. Check the dates on their Calendar of Events before your trip to see if what kinds of concerts, EXPOs, and other occasions are happening when you come to town.
Safety is synonymous with this city. In fact, Anaheim is considered one of the safest regions in the United States. Families can walk without any cause for concern. Streetlights mean nights remain well-lit and residents and tourists are often seen walking around after dark.
There are tons of things to do in Anaheim with kids! The town has even carved out an entire region dedicated to family-friendly recreation. The Anaheim Resort District, as it's known, refers to a 1,100-acre portion of the city in central Orange County. The property contains the Anaheim Convention Center, the Anaheim GardenWalk, and Disneyland.
Anaheim is a beautiful city, with plenty of places to enjoy. The best part? Most are free! Yorba Regional Park is located just 20 minutes from Great Wolf Lodge. The area contains over 140 acres of picnic tables, lakes, trails, fishing spots, sailing zones, and more.
The Santa Ana River trail is another popular place to visit free of charge. The multi-use trail complex stretches 30 miles down the river, from the Pacific Ocean to the Orange River side county line. You can bike, hike, run, or walk along this scenic stretch.
Other free destinations include Pearson Park and the Oak Canyon Nature Center. The Anaheim GardenWalk is also a great place to people watch. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you get hungry along the way.
Great Wolf Lodge Anaheim Hotel & Resort is three miles from the Disneyland® Resort. You can purchase additional Disneyland tickets at the Great Wolf Lodge front desk or online reservation center. We also offer a complimentary shuttle to Disney so you can visit Mickey Mouse and friends for the day! Reservations are required and can be made through the bell service team, and there are a limited number of runs per day. Transportation is on a first-reserved, first-served basis.
