Boil Water Alert until May 23rd
We wanted to provide you with a timely update regarding your upcoming stay at the Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky.
Last night there was a municipal water main break in Perkins Township, which is where our Sandusky resort is located. Local officials have issued a boil water alert for a majority of the area and communicated this is likely to remain in place until tomorrow morning. As part of this alert, local health officials have implemented water restrictions on dining establishments that will not allow us to operate any of our food and beverage facilities until the boil water alert is lifted. However, we expect our waterpark and other onsite experiences to be unaffected by these restrictions.
We are offering complimentary water stations in the lobby using bottled water until the boil alert has been lifted, and water lines completely flushed. Aside from these water stations, we will have limited pre-packaged food items available for purchase, but encourage guests who wish to continue with their planned stay to consider bringing food items from home – as a majority of the restaurants in the area are closed due to the water main break.
Safety is always our primary focus. With the advanced UV filtration and chemistry system that continuously monitors chemistry levels and maintains water safety in our water park, we are able to continue operating our water park as scheduled during the alert.
For guests planning to overnight at the lodge, the CDC recommends to avoid swallowing tap water, and keeping it out of your eyes, nose and mouth while showering or bathing during a boil water alert.
