After School Snacks Ideas for Kids

Prepare for the afternoons with these delicious after school snacks that kids of all ages will love!

Tip: To take off some stress for the week, these snacks can be prepared ahead of time and stored. 

Healthy(ish) Trail Mix

This nutty trail mix will have the kids wanting more, without ruining their appetite for dinner.

What you’ll need:

1. Cashews

2. Peanuts

3. Banana chips

4. Peanut butter chips

5. Walnuts

6. Almonds

7. Coconut

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together along with any special additions and store in a plastic bag or container.

Everything Bagel Seasoned Popcorn

What you’ll need:

1. Everything bagel seasoning

2. Popcorn kernels

3. Oil

4. Butter (optional)

5. Large pot

Instructions:

1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in pot with 3 popcorn kernels

2. When the popcorn kernels have popped, remove from burner, and add ½ cup of kernels and cover

3. Return the pot to medium heat and cook until all of the kernels have popped

4. Top with everything bagel seasoning and enjoy!

Chocolate Banana PB Bites

What you’ll need:

1. 2 bananas

2. Peanut butter

3. Milk or dark chocolate

4. Coconut oil

Instructions:

1. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper

2. Slice bananas

3. Lay banana slices on parchment paper

4. Make “banana sandwiches” with peanut butter in the middle of 2 slices of bananas

5. Put the bananas on the baking sheets into the freezer and wait 1 hour

6. While bananas are freezing, combine ½ cup chocolate chips with a tablespoon of coconut oil and microwave for 30 seconds, stirring halfway until melted

7. Remove bananas from freezer and coat with chocolate

8. Put bananas back in the freezer for 30 minutes

9. Remove and enjoy!
