Who says winter fun has to stay outdoors? Keep the action alive after heading inside. Let the kids warm up with a cup of hot chocolate while you start preparing a workstation for our next activity!

Today, we’re looking into how to make glittery snow slime. This hands-on activity is sure to keep the kids entertained while holed up in the house. It’s also a great way to stay connected during your time at home. If you want to share the experience with friends and family social distancing, you can always hop on Zoom and walk through the steps together. Check out the instructions below to get started!

Materials Needed:

  • Elmer’s Glue
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Mixing Spoon
  • 1 Tablespoon Contact Solution
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Baking Soda
  • Glitter

Step 1: Pour the entire bottle of Elmer’s Glue into your mixing bowl.

Step 2: Add 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda and mix thoroughly.

Step 3: Stir your glitter into the mixture.

Step 4: Add 1 tablespoon of contact solution.

Step 5: Stir together until the mixture gets hard and slime starts to form.

Step 6: Remove mixture from bowl and begin kneading with your hands. You can add more contact solution to the mixture if it feels too sticky. You can also add more glitter at this stage to give your slime some more shine.

Step 7: Use your glittery snow slime to make shapes, letters, or simply have fun!

Still looking for ways to keep the kids entertained? Create a place to house your glittery snow slime. Below, we’ll walk you through how to create a snowman-styled place to store your slime. You can keep them for the kids or give them away as party favors instead! Check out the instructions below to get started.

Materials Needed:

  • Glittery Snow Slime
  • Fillable Plastic Ornaments
  • Googly Eyes
  •  Black Buttons
  • Ribbon
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Orange Felt

Step 1: Begin creating your snowman’s face by gluing the googly eyes onto the front part of the ornament. Use the black buttons to create the mouth.

Step 2: Cut the orange felt to create a small triangle for the nose. Glue onto the ornament.

Step 3: String a ribbon through the top of the ornament.

Step 4: Fill the ornament with glittery snow slime. You can give this away as a gift or use it as a place to store the mixture. That way, you won’t have to create a whole new batch next time the kids want to play!
