Give those busy hands something to do by making your very own kinetic sand. Take a break from your virtual learning studies and whip up this easy recipe for a lot of fun!

This kinetic sand activity is a fun exercise for kids who are still practicing their shapes and perfecting their fine motor skills. It’s also a great way to explore sensory and imaginary play.

Supplies:

  • 1 Cup of Sand
  • 2 Tbsp Clear School Glue
  • 1 Tsp Liquid Starch
  • ½ tsp Liquid Dish Soap
  • Pigment (Food Coloring or Mica Powder)
  • Large Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Popsicle Stick
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Mixing Spoon

Time to Craft: 5 minutes

Step 1: Measure and mix together the liquid soap,  liquid starch and glue in a large bowl until it forms a slime like consistency.

Step 2: Add the sand into the large bowl slowly mixing it in with the spoon..

Step 3: Add small amounts of pigment to the mixture mixing it until you get your desired color.

Step 4: Use your hands to knead the kinetic sand together until all the loose sand has become part of the kinetic sand ball.
