Family Fun with the Edwards

[et_social_share_custom]

Welcome to Great Wolf Lodge! Recently, we teamed up with the Edwards family. This adorable party of four decided to try out some of our original at-home activities. First, the Edwards embark on our delicious s’mores-in-the-oven recipe. After that, they head into the living room to create their very own wolf den.

Both activities are designed to get the family together for some quality time. We know it’s not always easy to organize ways to have fun as a family, so use this video as a guide. See how much Mom, Dad and the boys enjoy sampling chocolate as they make their s’mores and piling into their new fort!

Check out the video below to watch the Edwards recreate these amazing family favorites:

S’mores-in-the-Oven

Take a look at a Great Wolf Lodge original recipe. You can even create your own version of the campfire classic. Fill out these recipe cards and share with us on social media!

In the first activity, you’ll see the Edwards family get a little adventurous with the cooking process. They chose to experiment with not one but three different kinds of chocolate so that they could decide as a family which is best.

Mom chose peanut butter flavored chocolate while Dad and Kaiser kept it simple by sticking to the original recipe. Karter got creative and decided to include both. He even threw in some crisp wafer to give his s’more a little extra crunch. Make sure to watch until the end of the video to find out which flavor the family liked best!

To follow along with your family, you can find the printable instructions below.  You should also check out the full article for a better look at our S’mores-in-the-Oven recipe.  Once you’re done, take a picture and tag us on social media so we can see how they turned out 🙂 .

Make Your Own Wolf Den

Enjoy a classic activity from the lodge. Our indoor camping exercise allows you to recreate the experience at home. Don’t forget to decorate the interior of your wolf den. Check out these activity sheets to create an indoor campfire and sticks-and-yarn stars.

In the second part of the video, you’ll see how the Edwards embark on another fun family activity as they try to create a Wolf Den at home (starts around the 05:52 mark in the video above). Dad was assigned Chief Architect of the project.

He decided to use three large chairs and a cat tower for the base – talk about getting creative! Check out the list below to see what kinds of materials you can use to get started:

Remember, making the fort is only half the fun. Once the Edwards family finished building their wolf den, they piled in for some quality family time. They decided to kick things off with a good book.

Of course, there are plenty of other things you can do together as a family in your wolf den, from sharing stories or snacks to watching movies and more. Be sure to check out the full article for more ways to enjoy your Wolf Den. Make sure to let us know how you did!
