DIY Carmel Apple Ingredients

  • 12 tbsp butter cut into small chunks
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 fresh apples, washed and chilled
  • Popsicle sticks

Make Your Own Carmel Apples with This Easy Recipe

Step 1: Put the sugar in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. As the edges start to liquefy, stir with a heavy spatula. Keep stirring regularly. It’ll be clumpy first, then turn to gold liquid.

Step 2: When sugar is melted, an adult should carefully add the butter to the pan. Use a spoon to be safe.

Step 3: Stir butter in for 2 minutes.

Step 4: Pour in cream while stirring. Allow caramel to reach 235°. This may take 15-20 minutes.

Step 5: Remove stems from apples and insert popsicle sticks.

Step 6: Remove caramel from heat and let cool for 10 minutes. Dip apples into caramel, then place on a nonstick surface.
