Enjoy This DIY Lily Pad Craft!

Did you know that there are over 50 different species of water lilies around the world? Or that they can grow upwards of six feet wide and support up to 66 pounds of weight? These aquatic flowering plants are also celebrated for their beautiful blooms contributions to pond health.

We’ve put together a fun, DIY activity to help bring the magic home! Check out the instructions below to get started on our original lily pad craft!

Lily Pad Materials

For this experiment you’ll need:

  • A dish of water
  • Blue food dye
  • Glitter
  • Colorful paper
  • Scissors
  • Puff Paint
  • Glitter Pen

How to Make DIY Water Lilies

Step 1: Cut paper into flower shapes.

Step 2: Decorate your flowers and let them dry.

Step 3: Fold up your flower’s petals.

Step 4: Fill up the dish with water and add food dye and glitter.

Step 5: Drop in your flowers and watch them bloom!
