Materials Needed:

  • Candy Eyes

Ingredients:

Fruit Bugs:

  • 3 Celery Stalks
  • 1 Cup Red/Green Grapes
  • 4 Strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup Blueberries
  • 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter

Vegetable Bugs:

  • 3 Celery Stalks
  • 10 Cucumber Slices
  • 1 Cup Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Cup Grape Tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cream Cheese
  • 1 Bunch Chives
  • 10 Whole Cashews

Step 1: Begin by creating faces for your snacks. Let’s start with the veggie bugs! Attach a pair of candy eyes to a cashew or cherry tomato using a dab of cream cheese. You can create a face for your fruit bugs by cutting a grape in half. Use peanut butter to attach the candy eyes and set aside for later.

Step 2: Create your body by cutting up the celery stalks. Trim the bottom so that it sits flat on the plate.

Step 3: Fill the celery stalk with cream cheese for the veggie bugs. This will be how you “glue” the rest of the body in place. We used a combination of grape tomatoes and cucumber. Create wings by slicing cucumbers and cutting them in half. You can even create some antennae using small snippets of chive.
