My first action in the morning is to check in on Medallia, our management platform, to see what our guest are commenting on. I also review the weekly project list to see what jobs have been completed, and what still needs to get done. I then make a quick walkthrough of the water park to verify the techs are completing morning inspections, and make sure all pools and attractions are safe to open for fellow pack members and guests. How does the water park smell, feel, sound?

I meet with the Engineering Director and Engineering Techs. Together, we review occupancy and goals for the day, as well as upcoming projects that fall outside the lines of daily duties. When it ends, I’ll examine the pump rooms, making sure all equipment is operating as intended

Next, I walk the water park, observing pools and attractions. Do guests seem to be having a good time? What does the water park feel like, temperature-wise: Are guest wrapped in towels signaling they are cold? How does the air quality seem—any issues with heavy chlorine smell?

I touch base with Aquatics Management to see if there are any issues they’re aware of, then do the same with the full morning staff. Returning to my office, I work on upcoming schedules, make sure our chemical inventory is in good supply. And review water and air quality sheets to be certain we don’t have an issue that’s not being addressed.

My day is almost over, so I meet with both the AM shift and incoming PM shift. How did the day go? We lay out the agenda for the PM crew, and I thank staff for their hard work—I hope everyone has a great day. See everyone tomorrow!
