Hello. We are planning a family vacation june10th thru the 12th. There are going to be 15 adults and 18 kids. What do you recommend? And are there any package deals for that size of a group?
This is a great question. I am not aware of any group rates, but you may want to call the lodge directly to find out. Not knowing how the 15 adults and 18 kids break down by family, I would definitely recommend the the larger suits like the Grizzly Bear suite which sleeps 8 or the Majestic Bear Suite which also sleeps 8. The nice thing about these suites is that the provide private bedrooms as well as a nice size common areas to relax in and hang out in all together! Are the family suites larger than the luxury king suites?
Hi Michele, Thanks for your question! Our family has only stayed in the family suite and I have not had a chance to personally see the king suite. Our family has a total of 5 people and the family suite was very spacious and we did not feel like we were on top of each other or getting in the other person's way unlike other hotel rooms. The king suite looks to be just about as large as the family suite so it would just depend on your personal wants and needs. Are there any special discounts for military families? I am also an Army wife and look for the best deals on everything.
Jennifer, thanks for your interest in the GWL - it's a wonderful adventure. Yes, GWL does have military discounts. The amount varies depending on the time of year and day of week. I have found that a week day (outside of holiday weeks - including spring break) brings the best deals. I would like to stress that a military discount has almost always been available for our family. I also need to add that military discounts are available for the Family Suites only; however, GWL has been known to do upgrades on your day of arrival, but that is never guaranteed. Do you have any tips for getting a good deal or saving money when visiting Great Wolf Lodge?
Hi, Elizabeth! Just like you, I love a good deal! If you visit The Great Wolf Lodge website at www.greatwolf.com, you will find a link to "Great Deals" when you click on the "Plan" button. This will show you current packages/promotions that are available. At the homepage of the website, you can click on "Email Signup" to join the mailing list. This way, you'll definitely be in the know on special events and promotions (including last minute deals) being offered at the Lodge. I believe I have received two promotional emails so far this summer that offered discounted room rates! My family enjoys dining at the Camp Critter Bar and Grille and splurging on a few special treats at the Bear Paw Sweets & Eats, but we also take advantage of the microwave and mini fridge in the room. When we visit the Lodge, I bring along some fruit, simple snacks (microwave popcorn), and juice boxes for a quick in the room breakfast and late night munchies. I hope this helps!
What time is check out?
Check-out is 11am, Betsy. The great news is that you do have access to the waterpark until close the day of your departure. There are locker rooms inside the water park that you may use to change and shower before going home. Lockers are also available for storing your items throughout the day. These are located right outside the locker room area. If you have requested charging ability on your bracelets (these get you in and out of the waterpark area) you can also request to leave this open. Just do this at the front desk when you check-out. This will allow you to easily make purchases at the snack bar, restaurants, and shops located throughout the hotel and not have to worry about carrying cash around. Here's a hint....there are only 2 blowdryers in the locker room at the Mason Lodge. There can be quite a wait for these. I would recommend tucking one in your bag if you want to blowdry before leaving - especially if you're visiting during the winter months.
