How deep is the outside pool and wave pool in the Poconos, PA location? Can 15 year olds swim in it or are they too big? Can adults swim in it? Is the resort too childish for teens? Thank you.
Hi Cheryl Lets start with the outdoor pool. The deepest part of the outdoor pool is 4 feet. It isn't really made for swimming, more for splashing and playing. The older kids can play water basketball although I notice more of the teenagers playing basketball in Chinook cove. The wave pool is a bit deeper at 6 feet in the deep end. It is a alot of fun when the waves are on...for everyone including mom and dad. While the resort is geared toward the younger (6-10yr old ) set, children of all ages can have fun. We recently took a team trip to the GWL and I have to say the teenagers had as much if not more fun than some of the younger kids. The biggest requirement is to love to play in the water!
Is there a bathroom facility that has showers in the waterpark we can shower since check out is at 11? Also, since the park is open till 9 and we will all be in bathing suits, do we have to change before we eat or does it depend on the restaurant?
Yes the restroom in the waterpark has shower and changing facilities. The shampoo bottles from the room come in very handy. Plus I always take an extra plastic bag so I can have something to put the wet suits in. You have a couple of options in terms of eating. Spirit Island is located inside the waterpark...it offers hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Pizza Hut is located right next to the waterpark-easy to order your pizza and bring it into the waterpark to enjoy. In order to eat in Camp Critter or the Loose Moose, you would need to change. Usually on the day I am leaving, we will have lunch in the water park. Once we are done in the water park and changed than we will eat a bigger meal at Loose Moose. Thanks for the questions.
