If an additional person is coming along will the room rate increase? By how much?
Hello, Denice! Your reservation includes four waterpark passes. If you have more than four people staying in your guest suite, the nightly rate increases by $40/person. Thanks so much for your question, and have a great time!
I don't swim at all and my 6 year old is a weak swimmer but loves the water. Will he be able to participate in the activities like water slides and things? And will I be able to accompany him as required without drowning? :-)
Hi Victoria! You and your son will most definitely be able to participate in the activities in the waterpark! One of the best assets of GWL, in my opinion, is the attention to detail their lifeguards possess. There are lifeguards at every attraction moving around and watching swimmers. At the slides, there are life guards at the top to assist guests into the tubes and another at the bottom to hold the tubes still so you can get off safely. The only two attractions that you might want to show caution around are Slap Tail Pond (wave pool) and Big Foot Pass (activity pool). The waves in Slap Tail Pond can be kind of rough and knock smaller swimmers over, and Big Foot Pass is over 4 feet deep. I'd also be sure to utilize the Coast Guard approved life jackets that GWL provides for your son while he's in the water. Have a blast!!
I have a 3-year-old and I'm about 6 months pregnant. Are there any attractions suitable for a 3-year-old? Can she go on any slides or the wave pool? Being pregnant would I be able to get into wave pool or anything?
Hi Sarah! Your 3-year-old has quite a few options in regards to the waterpark. She will be able to enjoy every aspect of Cub Paw Pool. There are two slides there as well as other water toys that I'm sure she'll love. She can also use Slap Tail Pond (the wave pool), just be careful when the waves start as they will easily knock her over if someone isn't holding her hand. She might also enjoy Big Foot Pass, but as with the wave pool, and adult would have to be in there with her. As for you, I would think that you could do just about everything except the slides. However, I would suggest contacting your doctor before you go just to be on the safe side. Have a great time!
What are included in the waterpark pass? Is this one attraction or several attractions?
Hi Peggy! Your waterpark pass includes all of the different slides/attractions that are inside of the waterpark. For example, there are several slides (Howlin' Tornado, River Canyon Run, Alberta Falls, and Mountain Edge Raceway) as well as Slap Tail Pond (the wave pool) and Bigfoot Pass (activities pool). Fort MacKenzie, an interactive tree house that also includes two kid slides, is also included. Raccoon Lagoon, the outdoor pool area, is open seasonally and is also included with your waterpark pass. The final attraction in the waterpark is Cub Paw Pool, which is created especially for toddlers. Thanks so much for your question!
Are the waterpark wrist bands good for the day you check out?
Hi Destiny! This is a great question! Your wristbands will be good for entry into the waterpark until it closes on the day you checkout. However, once you are officially checked out of your room by the front desk, you will no longer be able to charge items using your wristband or gain access to your room. If you're planning on enjoying the waterpark on the day you check out, I would suggest packing a waterpark bag and storing the rest of your luggage in your car. The changing rooms in the water park are spacious even have a machine to spin all the water out of your suits before you put them in your bag! Thanks for your question, and have a great time!
Great Wolf Lodge Charlotte-Concord’s Water Park
Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC is your one-stop-shop for family fun and entertainment. With rides and slides for parents and kids of all ages, there's something for everyone to enjoy at our indoor water park. These fun-filled adventures await you and your family.
Fort Mackenzie™
We've turned splashing into an adventure at Fort Mackenzie, our 4-story interactive tree house in the center of our 84 degree indoor water park. Adventure through suspension bridges, swinging cargo nets, treetop slides and soaking spray stations. If that doesn't get you drenched, just wait for our 1,000-gallon bucket to tip from the treetops.
Howlin' Tornado™
Our most thrilling adventure. Grab up to 3 other members of your pack willing to drop into the 6-story funnel. You'll quickly learn how this ride earned its name. Repeatedly swish and swirl 30 feet up the sides of the funnel, before making a safe splash landing.
River Canyon Run™
Pack the entire family into a raft and together take one of the park's signature slides.
Alberta Falls™
Alberta Falls is four stories of fun. Twist in and out of the Lodge before dropping into the plunge pool. (Don't worry, the tube is enclosed so there's no temperature change!)
Slap Tail Pond™
With waves up to 3 feet tall, you'll think you're in the ocean. Grab an inner tube or let the surf take you to "shore". Waves come in 5-minute intervals. The gigantic wave pool also features zero-depth entry and goes up to 5 feet deep.
Mountain Edge Raceway™
Challenge your family to some friendly competition on our indoor competitive mat racer waterslides. Launch headfirst down the 4-story slide and prepare for some sharp turns before finishing along the straightaway.
Chinook Cove™ Activity Pool
Get into the hoopla with a little water basketball with the kids. Let them test their balance along a floating activity or just goof around (safely, of course!) in this activity pool.
Big Foot Pass™
This agility challenge keeps kids busy for hours, as they practice their balance and cheer on their friends. Little kids learn to jump from lily pad to lily pad, while the older ones use the netting above to guide themselves across. One false step and ... splash.
Totem Towers™
These twin three-story slides offer the fastest (not to mention, funfilled) escape route out of the Fort Mackenzie tree house.
Whooping Hollow™
For the "48 inches and under" set, we offer a kiddie slide that the little ones will want to try again and again and again.
