Temporary Closure of Great Wolf Lodge Illinois

We apologize that we unfortunately need to provide a disappointing update about your upcoming stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, Illinois.  As we previously communicated, the governor of Illinois on Tuesday introduced new statewide restrictions as part of the state’s mitigation efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19.  That order indicated that indoor recreation or amusement centers needed to temporarily close.

Since the order did not reference pools or water parks, we discussed the situation with state and local health department officials on Wednesday.  At that time, they confirmed the order did not impose any additional restrictions on pools or water parks and granted permission to continue operating. Unfortunately, this evening additional guidance was issued by the state indicating recreational indoor pools and water parks need to temporarily close.  Therefore, in accordance with this revised order, we need to temporarily close our resort beginning Saturday, Nov. 21.

Your family is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so we wanted to review your options.  You are welcome to continue with your plans as the water park remains available to you starting at 1pm (excluding your room which will be available after 4pm) and will remain open until scheduled closing time.  On Saturday however, in accordance with the state’s order, only the retail outlets and take away service from Dunkin’ will be available for guests, and the resort will close at noon.

Alternatively, we can change your reservation to a different date, transfer your reservation to our Wisconsin Dells resort or cancel your reservation with no penalties or fees.   If you would like change your reservation to a different date or cancel and receive a refund, please call us at 866-651-9653.

We again sincerely apologize for this last minute notification and the inconvenience to your family.  When you’re ready, we look forward to helping you and your family make some incredible memories together at Great Wolf Lodge Illinois.
