We're taking our 4 kids out of school to visit the Poconos location. Grades K, 1, 2, and 4. I need to write a letter to the school explaining the educational purpose of our trip in order to excuse them from school. Any ideas??
Hi Kelly Great question! I am not sure I can pull this one off though....my son would love it if he could be excused from school to go to the GWL. My thought here is to go with the wildlife and conservation. For instance the morning Wolf walk teaches the children all about wolves. There are also Cub Club programs that teach the kids about bugs and such. There is also a huge componet of conservation at the GWL. Perhaps the kids could speak to one of the Pack members and write an essay of water conservation-why its important and such. I am sure if your kids are motivated that they can pull it off.Good Luck.
My husband and I are planning on taking our sons here for a weekend trip over the summer and are just trying to find out what other expenses for activities are not covered with our room/waterpark passes. I know there is an arcade which obviously is not pai
Hi Elizabeth, Besides the Northern Lights Arcade like you said, there is Ten Paw Alley, a small bowling alley, Cub Club crafts & activities (some are no charge), MagiQuest (Interactive Wand Game), Story Explorers for younger children, gr8_space for teens. It may benefit you to purchase a Paw Pass- it saves some money. Check it out on the web site at www.greatwolf.com and after you make your booking you will be asked if you want to add any addition al packages to your room such as meals etc... Have fun.Debbie
IS THERE A BALL PIT?
Hi Chrissi, Hi- The Poconio Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos does not have a ball pit, but there are so many attractions there that I don't think you'll miss it. The water attractions will keep everyone busy, besides other dry attractions, such as Northern Lights Arcade, Magi-Quest (interactive wand game), Story Explorer, Cub-Club etc. Check out all the activities at www.greatwolf.com to see what GWL offers for children and adults of any age. Have fun. Debbie G. (PS I answered this question on 2/8/12)
I have a 3 1/2-year-old and a 1-year-old. Are there many things for them to do?
I think that there is plenty for them to do. First is the waterpark. There is a whole area dedicated to the little ones -small slides and play area. Plus they can play in the big Fort McKenzie. Outside of the waterpark is the Cub Club, a place to do crafts or just play. Perfect for the younger guests. End the day with the Clock Tower show and Story Time. Have fun!
Is GWL approriate for an 18-month-old?
I think an 18 month old can have a lot of fun at GWL. The toddler area has age-appropriate activities, as does the Cub Club. I would certainly feel comfortable bringing an 18-month-old along if I had other children that really wanted to go. Do keep in mind that a large portion of the waterpark is designed with the school-aged child in mind.
Be on the lookout for our roaming Cub Club entertainment team as they offer fun activities and unique craft projects for your wolf pups. Our upbeat Pack Members are ready to entertain you with family friendly music, dancing and games. Look for them throughout the lodge to get in on the fun daily activities like face painting, balloon twisting, hula hoop contests and Wiley® Bingo! Activity schedule changes daily.
