I'm a single mom of 3 and saving money is a must if I want to take my kids on a trip. I noticed on the website there appears to be tables in the pool area. Are we allowed to bring snacks/ a small cooler to that area??
Hi! I'm a saver, too! There are tables in the pool area, but you can't bring in any outside food/drink items. There is a snack shop there with reasonable prices inside the pool area. You can purchase food/ drink from the Bear Paw Cafe or the Camp Critter Bar and Grille and bring it into the pool area. What I do to save money is bring some drink and snacks to leave in the room. There's a fridge and a microwave in the room. My kids last visit made those microwavable mac n cheese tubs when they needed an extra snack. We even brought sandwiches, popcorn, and cereal. That saves a lot! Just to let you know, there is a 48 Hour sale going on right now (use code 48hour) if interested. I always use these savings codes when I go. This lets me spend a little extra on those extras like Starbucks coffee and fudge! Have a great time! Tami Jensen
Do you have any favorite foods from the restuarants that you would recommend?
This is a harder question for me to answer. Due to the fact that there is a fridge and microwave in the room, we tend to bring food with us. I have eaten at the Camp Critter Bar and Grill and very much enjoyed it. I tend to be a hamburger kind of person, and it was very good. The group that I went with enjoyed a variety of foods from sandwiches to full meals and EVERYONE was satisfied. Of course, I enjoy my Starbucks and baked goods from the Bear Claw Cafe and have often eaten at the Pizza Hut Express in the water park.
There’s nothing like a hot meal after a long day of adventuring. For the tastiest treats this side of the Northwoods, bring the family to Camp Critter, a rustic retreat filled with cozy dining tents and a spacious bar stocked with local favorites. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Camp Critter offers a rustic bar and grill experience that’s sure to bring the whole pack together.
