how much is it to come in and swim?
Greetings Khelbi. The cost to swim at the Great Wolf Lodge is free if you purchase an over night stay. It isn't open at a "walk-in" basis. There are many suites to choose from and there are other activities to do as well. There's the MagiQuest, Norther Lights Arcade, Scooops Spa, Wolf Walk, and More. I'd encourage you to check it out! It is a lot of fun. Tami Jensen
Is there any child care available? I am thinking of taking my daughter (age 5) by myself. Can she go to the Cub Club for an hour if I sign her up for something? I'm just wondering what I could do if I needed a break!
Maria, thanks for the question. Unfortunately, the Great Wolf Lodge does not offer child care so an adult does need to be present, even for the Cub Club. There are a lot of other things for you to do at the GWL together besides the waterpark such as the Cub Club, MagiQuest, Northern Lights Arcade, Scoops Kid Spa, Story Time, The Great Clock Tower Show, and Wolf Walk. Although you do these together, these may give you the "break" that you are looking for. I think you and your daughter would have a fantastic time at the Great Wolf Lodge! Enjoy! Becky
Is Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City fun for teenagers? We are taking our oldest to visit her college in Ottawa, KS, and want it to be a family vacation.
Jennifer - I feel GWL is teen friendly. Although my children are young, I'm a people watcher and from my observations, I feel they very much enjoy it. The biggest decisions for you to make are: 1. Does your child enjoy the water? I've seen some teens get in one of the pools to play basketball or just horse play and not get out for two hours. Of course, there are several waterslides and a lazy river as well. 2. Does he/she like video games? There is a decent arcade at GWL (Northern Lights Arcade) and even with our younger children, we have spent a few hours there. 3. Does he/she like fantasy adventure? There is a live-action MagiQuest game that can take up to 6 or more hours to play (there is a cost for this of course, around $30.00 total for a basic wand and game), and I've seen several teens play this game non-stop. 4. Does she like spas? The Elements Spa is more adult than the Scooops Kid Spa, so she might enjoy a facial or pedicure too. I hope I've answered your question. I can totally see my kids enjoying GWL clear into their teens. We may have to start bringing friends along at that age, but I do believe we will still be spending a few weekends a year there. Take care. Jennifer
I have a 3-year-old son who I am thinking about bringing to Great Wolf Lodge. Are there enough 3-year-old friendly activities to keep his attention and keep him happy?
Jared, great question. I feel there are enough activities for a three year old. My son was three the first time we took him and he loved it. In the waterpark portion, there is a zero-depth entry pool area with slides, just for the little ones. The waterpark provides life jackets. There is a water tree house that has lots of fun activities, and my three year old did go down the tree house slides as well. The only part of the waterpark he will more than likely not be able to do are the big slides, and even then there is one he is able to go down with an adult. Outside of the waterpark there is Story Time, the Great Clock Tower in the Grand Lobby, the Northern Lights Arcade, and Cub Club. All of these activities are geared toward children as young as 18 months or younger all the way up to adults. The GWL has done an outstanding job of really catering to all ages. Have a good time. Jennifer
If kids designed your family room, it would probably look something like this. The bright lights of our sprawling, family-friendly arcade is packed with a variety of games designed to bring out the inner child in everyone. Plus, we've included exciting games of skill for the older kids, as well as fun games of chance for the little ones, meaning everyone can redeem tickets for prizes.
