Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a good resort for a 1 1/2 yr old? We are looking to stay just for the weekend. Will it be hard to keep track of him? Are there toddler pools or smaller activiies for him to enjoy?
Great question. This is a great resort for young children. There are many different areas for a little one to have some fun. Fort Mackenzie offers room for them to climb and explore. Gushin Geyser offers a very shallow pool and slide, with water "eruptions" every few minutes. Totem Tower has slides just for the little ones, so you won't have to worry about the "big kids" getting in the way. Right next to the wave pool is a great kids area with hoses, a small slide, and even stationary jet-skis that the kids can "ride". If you visiting in the summer, you can add Thunder Bay to the list of great activities. All this is just what is available in the water-park!! In the hotel, you have Cub Club, the Clock Tower Show, the Wolf Walk and much much more. I think you will run out of time before activities while you are at the GWL. I hope you enjoy your stay. Are parents allowed to use the smaller body slides in the kids areas? At other resorts we've visited, 95% of the slides are for kids only (weight restrictions). We want to play WITH our kids instead of just watching (and not just on the big slides).
Hi Andrea! That's a great question! Yes, parents are able to go down the slides in the kids areas. Both of my children love the kiddie areas, so my husband and I are very pleased that we are able to go on all the slides as well. We can't always go down together, a few aren't quite big enough to accomodate two people at the same time. In that case we either followed down quickly or went down first to catch them at the bottom. Sometimes I didn't know who was having more fun; us or our kids! Happy Holidays! Heather

Fort Mackenzie™
We've turned splashing into an adventure at Fort Mackenzie, our 4-story interactive tree house in the center of our 84 degree indoor water park. Adventure through suspension bridges, swinging cargo nets, treetop slides and soaking spray stations. If that doesn't get you drenched, just wait for our 1,000-gallon bucket to tip from the treetops.
Howlin' Tornado™
Our most thrilling adventure. Grab up to 3 other members of your pack willing to drop into the 6-story funnel. You'll quickly learn how this ride earned its name. Repeatedly swish and swirl 30 feet up the sides of the funnel, before making a safe splash landing.
Slap Tail Pond™
With waves up to 3 feet tall, you'll think you're in the ocean. Grab an inner tube or let the surf take you to "shore". Waves come in 5-minute intervals. The gigantic wave pool also features zero-depth entry and goes up to 5 feet deep.
Lookout Mountain™
Slide 200 feet down "Lookout Mountain" and into the lazy river.
Mountain Edge Raceway™
Challenge your family to some friendly competition on our indoor competitive mat racer waterslides. Launch headfirst down the 4-story slide and prepare for some sharp turns before finishing along the straightaway.
Coyote Cannon™
You can't be afraid of the dark if you want to ride the Coyote Cannon. Twist, turn and loop back and forth along the 436-foot enclosed slide. Once you exit the darkness, the Coyote spits you into the splash pool. Pair up with the kids, or send them solo.
Whirly Bird Run™
Spin down our 443-foot Whirly Bird waterslide. Go solo, or on a 2-person tube for double the fun!
Chinook Cove™ Activity Pool
Get into the hoopla with a little water basketball with the kids. Let them test their balance along a floating activity or just goof around (safely, of course!) in this activity pool.
Frog Bog Log Walk™
This agility challenge keeps kids busy for hours, as they practice their balance and cheer on their friends. Little kids learn to jump from lily pad to lily pad, while the older ones use the netting above to guide themselves across. One false step and ... splash.
Mineshaft
No tube, raft or mat required. Just lie down, cross your arms over your chest, and propel yourself down the 100-foot slide.
Hawk's Beak™
The littlest thrill-seekers can try all four of our kiddie water areas, including Hawk's Beak, Racoon Lagoon, and Gushin' Geyser. All three sections of our indoor waterpark have special features for the "48 inches and under" set.
Totem Towers™
These twin three-story slides offer the fastest (not to mention, funfilled) escape route out of the Fort Mackenzie tree house.
Raccoon Lagoon™
The little ones squeal as the volcano "erupts" with a spray of water. They can safely toddle along the rubber no-slip surface, exploring the spray-and-play features, or wade into the zero-depth entry kiddie pool with a maximum depth of one foot.
