What ages is MagicQuest for? I have an almost 5 year old and am wondering if he can play.

Hi Dana! I would say that MagiQuest is great for ages four to twelve or thirteen. Of course the younger ages will need an adult to go with them and help them on their Quests, but the older Magis would be able to maneuver the game by themselves. Playing MagiQuest is one of our children's favorite past times at GWL! I'd like to offer some advice from a veteran MagiQuest mom - bring your tennis shoes! There is a lot of stair climbing involved for both parents and young Magis! :)

I am thinking of bringing my four granddaughters ages 14,11,11, and 8 - is the waterpark enough to keep them busy? How much is the teen arcade? Other suggestions from tween aged kids? Thank you.

Hi Pam! What a crowd you will have! We have taken children those exact same ages to the waterpark, and there is more than enough there to keep them busy. Northern Lights Arcade's prices are comparable to other arcades. You will need to purchase tokens in the arcade, and the games range anywhere from 1-4 tokens each. Other suggestions for them would be MagiQuest, which is an interactive adventure game within the Lodge. The MagiQuest store is on the 3rd level of the Lodge above the Grand Lobby, and they'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. gr8_space would be another option, but it is geared more towards the teenage crowd, and the minimum age requirement is 10 years-old. The girls can always head outside and play a round of Howl-In-One mini-golf! I hope you all have a great time, and thanks for your question!

Hi Carolyn! In order for you to utilize the waterpark, you have to be a registered overnight guest of the Lodge. Day passes are not offered. This helps to keep lines to attractions within the waterpark more manageable. On the other hand, you do not have to be an overnight guest to play MagiQuest or dine at Loose Moose Cottage. We are debating on whether or not two 11-year-old girls would like to do the MagiQuest or the Kids Scooops Spa. What is your recommendation?

Hi Valerie! Honestly, I think your girls would love to do BOTH! MagiQuest is perfect for their age group because they can participate in the quests on their own and figure things out without the help of an adult. I also think that they would LOVE Scooops Spa. What girl wouldn't enjoy getting a pedicure, manicure, or facial all while enjoying their favorite sundae?! In my opinion, both activities are perfect for their ages, and I think they'll have a fabulous time! Enjoy your stay!

Can more than one child share a wand for MagiQuest?

Yes more than one child can share a wand to play MagiQuest. The best way to do this is let one be in charge of the wand and the other the clue book and then switch from time to time. I have also seen families buy more than one wand but only activate one for the game. My answer of course depends on how well the children can share. There is plenty to do in the game so each child should still be able to have plenty of fun.

Do you have to stay overnight at Great Wolf Lodge to play MagiQuest?

MagiQuest is one of my son's favorite activities at Great Wolf Lodge and you do not need to be an overnight guest to play it. So if you live nearby, stop in and have fun!

What time does MagiQuest open each day?

MagiQuest hours vary but it generally opens around 9am and closes at 9pm. When you check in you, will get a copy of Lodge Life which will give you the exact operating hours during your stay. My son used to play this game for hours. Have fun!

Does staying overnight give you access to all activities or are there extra charges? e.g. kids spa, game room, etc.

Staying overnight allows you access to the Concord waterpark for two days. There are a few activities (Story Time, Great Clock Tower show, and Cub Club) that are included in your stay as well. There are fees for Scooops Kids Spa, gr8_space, MagiQuest, and the Northern Lights Arcade. A Paw Pass can be purchased which will save you some money over buying everything individually.
