In 1997 the 1st Great Wolf Lodge opened in WI Dells, WI. The resort grew to 309 Rooms & a 40,000 Sq Ft Indoor Waterpark by 1999. A new trend in the hospitality industry was born, combining quality accommodations with the finest in family recreational activities.

Then in 2001, the 2nd Great Wolf Lodge opened in Sandusky OH, this was Ohio’s 1st Indoor Waterpark Resort and the beginning of the Great Wolf Resorts brand.

By 2003 Great Wolf Resorts grew its family to 4 resorts including sister properties in Traverse City, Mi & Kansas City, KS.
And in June of 2004 we opened Blue Harbor Resort. A new brand with the same mission, values, promise and standards of service that guests receive at all Great Wolf Resorts

In 2005, we welcomed 2 new lodges to our family. Great Wolf Lodge – Williamsburg, VA & Great Wolf Lodge, Poconos, PA. The key to our continued success has always been our pack members and their strong commitment to our Mission, Values and Standards of Service.

In 2006 we opened our first International Great Wolf Lodge, which was a join venture with Ripley’s Entertainment. Not only was this our first International lodge, but our first franchise adventure.
In 2006 we also opened Ohio’s second Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, OH. Similar to Niagara, Mason is also a joint venture, but this time with Kings Island Amusement Park. You might hear this lodge referred at as Great Wolf Lodge Kings Island. Not only have we opened more lodges, but the lodges themselves have grown in size! The Great Wolf Lodge in Mason has a 78,000 sq foot indoor waterpark and a Conference center with 6 Ballrooms, 7 meeting rooms and a boardroom.

Grapevine, TX (just outside of Dallas, TX) opened in December 2007. Everything is bigger in Texas… this lodge is going to be 8 stories, with over 600 suites and an 80,000 square foot indoor waterpark.
Our 1st lodge West of the Rocky Mountains opened in Grand Mound, WA (just outside of Seattle, WA) in March 2008. This lodge was a joint venture with the Confederated Tribe of the Chehalis Reservation.
